Christian Maljian

Pastor of Middle School Students

Christian, although not a Colorado "native", fell in love with the beauty and wonder of the state when he was in 3rd grade visiting with his grandparents for a church conference in Keystone. After that point Colorado was on his mind so much so that he decided to attend the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated in 2019. During his years at CU, he led on campus with CRU (formerly Campus Crusade) through which he spent two summers in Juneau, Alaska for stateside missions where he met some of his closest friends who helped shape a significant chunk of his life and ultimately his faith. After CRU he spent 5 years volunteer leading with Young Life at Erie High School (go Tigers!) pouring into the lives of young men while working jobs in engineering.

He spent time right out of college working for a company that designs aquatic climbing walls, ropes courses, and other adventure recreation equipment. After that he joined a team that was working to build fully automated indoor farms and helped found the company that now is developing low cost automation equipment for indoor farmers to grow produce and their businesses more efficiently. In the midst of his passion for engineering and creating the Lord continued to tug on his heart and open up doors to move into full time Ministry with Cornerstone Church as the Middle School Youth Pastor. He jokingly used to say, "My dad was a youth pastor - I want to do something different. Which means God will probably call me to be a youth pastor." All jokes aside, he finds absolute joy in getting to walk with students who already are the hands and feet of Jesus even if they don't yet realize it. That is one of his biggest hopes - that they would see they are filled with a power bigger than they realize.

In his free time, you will find him spending time with his fiancé Gaby (soon to be wife circa August 2025), mountain biking, writing poetry/books, with a camera in hand (ask him about his Super 8), camping, reading, hanging with friends for game nights. Honestly he does a lot of things, probably too many, so maybe if you see him tell him it's okay to take a break once in a while. Ultimately it all comes from his love for the Lord and the wonderful creation he has created. For him it is his greatest joy when adults and students alike discover they are each creative, as their Creator made them to be and that we were meant to enjoy life in Him and the life he created as much as we can.
