Brian joined the Cornerstone staff in 2002. Since that time he has held many different pastoral roles and served in many different capacities. Today, Brian serves as Cornerstone Boulder’s Lead Pastor.
Brian is a native of Colorado, growing up in the small Mountain town of Monte Vista. It was there at age 12 that he first heard the Gospel and began to follow Jesus. He was a part of church where he was well cared for and grew in his faith. As a kid Brian kept busy, playing sports, hanging with his family, and working at the family business. Following High School, Brian attended the University of Northern Colorado on a wrestling scholarship, where he received his bachelors degree in History (2002). It was during his time in Greeley that he first served in ministry at Christ Community Church.
In 2002 Brian joined the Cornerstone staff as our youth pastor. In 2006 Brian transitioned out of youth ministry into an Associate pastor role. Over the years, he’s help many different positions within the church, and we joke around that “he just never left”. In 2011 He received his masters degree in Leadership from Bakke Graduate University.
Today, Brian serves as Cornerstone’s Lead Pastor. He loves Cornerstone for all its uniqueness and believes that it is a perfect for Boulder. Brian has a passion for Culture, History and Leadership, and those subjects often come out in his teaching.
He and his wife Elyse were married in 2002, and have four boys, Cole, Wyatt, Levi, and Jude. Today, he spends a good amount of his time with his sons, coaching football and wrestling, and building Legos. He and Elyse love to travel, and take any chance they can to see the world. Brian is a huge Buffs and Bronco fan, and you can find him on Sundays in the fall, preaching at Cornerstone, or cheering on his Broncos.
