“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

About J10

Facing a changing world and uncertainty, academic expectations and increasing social media pressures,  1 in 5 teenagers in the US have experienced a mental health challenge in the last year (NIMH).  We know that there is hope for teens to come through these difficult seasons, with evidence showing  86% of teens with depression experience significant relief when receiving a combination of treatment (NIMH).

J10 is a peer support group for teens facing mental health challenges, and is inspired by the words of Jesus in John 10v10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”   Jesus provides even greater hope for healing and wholeness with the added identity, purpose, and power he provides, and he promises to journey alongside teens towards life in its fullness - a real and better life.

The groups will provide faith based encouragement and research backed tools to help navigate mental health challenges.  Studies have shown that teens in peer support groups often report higher levels of empathy, social skills, stronger coping strategies and improved sense of wellbeing, and are also less likely to relapse.  They provide critical emotional support alongside traditional treatments, by teens knowing they are not unique or alone in the challenges they face.

J10 groups are starting at Cornerstone in February 2025, facilitated by youth pastors, and counselors. Click HERE if you are interested in joining a J10 group

Group Approach

J10 will use the materials developed by The Grace Alliance, which are backed with research and have been used in hundreds of churches in the US and internationally. The groups approach includes:

Holistic Support: We focus on helping individuals as a whole— mind, body, and spirit. Participants learn about wellness and get tips to feel better mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Practical Skill Sessions: Builds important skills like handling stress, managing emotions, and self-care. These fun, hands-on sessions teach tools that can be used everyday.
A Safe Place to Be Yourself: J10 is a judgment-free zone where teens can share what’s on their minds, connect with others who get what they’re going through, and feel less alone and more understood.
Faith and Science Together: We combine proven mental health tools with faith-based encouragement to support in a balanced way.

Each group will be 8-10 teens, and the program lasts 10 weeks.  It’s free and open to all high school students.
