Joyce was born and raised in Kansas by Chinese immigrant parents. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University and served with a college ministry, Christian Challenge, which was formational for her faith. She became a licensed esthetician while she was pursuing seminary training with hopes of serving overseas until her plans changed when she met her husband, Seth. She worked in business management until God called her to pursue her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Friends University.
Seth and Joyce have called Cornerstone home since they moved to Colorado in 2016 and she continues to practice counseling. In her role as Pastor of Women and Life Groups, she sees a common thread over all of her careers as empowering people to live out of their God-given identity and gifts. Joyce is passionate about transforming culture, leadership development, and holistic health. She enjoys playing the keyboard, traveling and learning about different cultures, and is a self-proclaimed foodie. They just welcomed their first child and are embarking on the wild journey of parenting.
