Each week builds on the previous week’s learning and homework.

 

 Course is best suited for people who want to:

·      Understand about the principles set in place by God to govern the Kingdoms of Light and Darkness.

·      Learn about your own spiritual authority delegated to you by God, and

·      Discover how that authority can be applied to restore your life and the world around you.
·      Shut doors in their own life that can invite spiritual oppression.

·      Learn about spiritual gifts and receive an prayer for the empowerment of those gifts.

Books:  No pre-reading is required but both of these books will be used extensively each week of the course.

First book ‘Your Spiritual Authority:  Light Overcomes Darkness’ needs to be paid for with online registration before April 20th.  It will be provided at your first class.

Week One Content: God’s Design and Passion for Creation

1.    The big picture:  God’s original design for creation, Satan’s damage and theft of creation, Jesus Christ intervenes,

2.    Our mission:  Reestablish the Kingdom of God on Earth

3.    Redemptive promise:  Heaven and new earth together

4.    Bible bookends are mirror images—first two chapters of Genesis and last two chapters of Revelation.

Week Two: Authority of the Believer

1.    High-level overview of scripture about impact of Jesus’ victory on our authority.  Implications of NT scriptures on our empowerment and purpose in the Kingdom of God.

2.    Understand and develop confidence to apply Jesus’ delegated authority and power responsibly.

3.    When and how to use your delegated authority.

4.    Increase the impact of your delegated authority and power.

 

Week Three: Arena of Engagement

1.    Spiritual realm works on earth through human agreement.
2.    Obedient angels and fallen angels.

3.    Our assurance.

4.    Strategy of the battlefield:  Satan’s goals and limitations.  His tactics.

5.    Becoming aware of evil oppression.  How and where do evil spirits oppress people?  Common points of entry.

 

Week Four: Setting Prisoners and Captives Free

1.    Treating the whole person for restoration.

2.    Approaches to attain freedom—wounds and lies, removing judgment and condemnation, needing pardon, our relationship with each member of the Trinity.

3.    God is working through us (and why).

 

Week Five: Armed and Dangerous

1.    What is the role of the warrior and what is the power source?  What is the role of Jesus, the Lion of Judah?

2.    What is the ‘full armor of God’, how do you practically apply each of these in real life?  Go deeper than just reciting this scripture.  Going into battle with God’s Word—real stories.
3.    Three stages of growth and how ‘Restored’, and your learning relate to these.
4.    You are the battleground where two Kingdoms are at war.

 

Week Six:  Unity and Release of the Holy Spirit for Gifting

1.    Unity in the Body of Christ is critical

2.    Together we are one temple.

3.    How and for what purpose are Holy Spirit’s gifts distributed in the church?
4.    Unity and gifts:  Key learning, types of gifts, how to find, explore and grow your gifts.

5.    Teaching on anointing of Gifts:  How do I receive a deeper anointing?  What does impartation mean?  God controls impartation. Preparing to receive an impartation / anointing.  What might I experience during and after impartation / anointing (range of experiences).

6.    (If time) Practicum for anointing of gifts.

About the instructors:

John Carr grew up with early roots in the Episcopal and Baptist traditions. From a young age he was very aware of God and at the age of five developed a deep personal connection to Him. After graduating with a BEng, ME Eng from Cornell, John built a career in engineering and construction around the world.

Bev Carr grew up with early roots in the Methodist tradition. She earned a BS, MA in Adult Spiritual Development from Asbury Theological Seminary, and also has an MBA. For many years she worked in Energy and Life Science industries and owned a business that designed and installed cross-functional business solutions.

Together John and Bev have ministered extensively within churches in the US and around the world on various mission trips.  They have written several books and courses to help people understand spiritual warfare and the authority that Christians have been delegated by God. They have had the privilege of being guest lectures at Alliance Theological Seminary in NYC and have taught Christian Integrated Healing (body, soul and spirit) for 17 years.
